RUBBERHOG "Rubber Repair Tools" are very effective for repair of conveyor belts, and for preparing belt surfaces for bonding of lugs, edge walls, etc. Special wheels such as Vane wheels ("Star" wheels) and drums are also available for belt surface preparation, and special wheels are also available for custom belt fabricators' grooving requirements.

Rubberhog Rubber Surgery Tools are for texturing and removing rubber rapidly with a highly efficient, cool, smokeless cutting action that requires no coolants at all. They leave a prepared rubber surface that is physically and chemically clean, evenly textured, and entirely free of any of the defects caused by abrading and rasping.
The photograph (top left) shows the uniform, open structure of SSG tooth coatings on typical Rubberhog Rubber Surgery Tools. Compare it to the photo below showing the crude, irregular structure of standard “crushed grit” wheel coatings. The controlled wide-open structure provides generous cutting clearance between the SSG teeth, allowing them to easily penetrate and cut off small cool chips of rubber without loading. SSG teeth are also manufactured so that the teeth operate at a uniform cutting radius, resulting in a rubber surface that is minutely roughened and free of coarse grooves, ridges, or closing cuts.
This combination of features explains why Rubberhog Rubber Surgery Tools provide a cool, efficient cutting action which produces an even, scorch-free surface with an ideal texture for obtaining the strongest rubber-to-rubber bonds.
